Why don't I qualify for treatment with weight loss medication?

The medical criteria the doctor checks when reviewing a request.

Our doctors assess requests against a number of medical criteria. Someone doesn't (currently) qualify if any of the following applies:

  • 76 years or older

  • BMI below 25 (and never previously used weight loss medication)

  • BMI between 25 and 27, without an increased health risk based on ethnicity (and never previously used weight loss medication)

  • Pregnant

  • Breastfeeding

  • BMI below 30, without an underlying condition that qualifies

  • Uses insulin

  • Uses a sulfonylurea

  • Previously had pancreatitis

Has your situation changed, or does none of these points apply (any longer)? Then the questionnaire can be filled in again.
